<li>A successful <a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2007/11/84/">Holiday Reception to raise funds for the Educational Foundation</a> and to meet several international scholars supported by AAUW and going to school in North   Carolina.</li>
<li>Co-sponsoring a <a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2008/01/134/">program at NCCU for female law students and faculty</a> on the importance of Title IX and equity in university hiring and pay scales.</li>
<li>Working with the YWCA to present a six part seminar on <a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2008/03/145/">Financial Literacy for middle school girls</a> who attend the Y&#8217;s after school program at Ligon  Middle School and partnering with the Y for a repeat of our &#8220;<a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2008/04/146/">Mom&#8217;s Turn to Learn</a>&#8221; project from February, 2007.</li>
<li>Our annual <a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2008/01/96/">author&#8217;s brunch</a> at Peace College featuring Sarah Shaber, a local mystery author. Funds from the brunch went to support both the Educational Foundation and the Legal Advocacy Fund.</li>
<li>We also sent a delegation to the <a href="http://rwc.aauwnc.org/2008/04/154/">AAUW state convention</a> and Sheila Bassoppo-Moyo was elected as State Membership chair.</li>

<p align="left">Aleasia McNair and Brenda Sutton Williamson, graduates of Shaw University, will also share their experiences. Ms. McNair is married and the mother of 3 teenagers. She graduated from Shaw this month, and she already has two associate degrees.  She is anticipating enrolling in graduate school. Ms. Williamson is employed with NC State Government.</p>
